~ 2011: Sabaidee Lao PDR ~

In August 2011, along with my little buddy, we went to Laos for a 4D3N trip.
We departed on Saturday afternoon and arrived Vientiane. Soon, we headed to the North Bus Station to take an overnight bus to Luang Prabang.

We met Celine from Malaysia.

The bumpy winding road condition made the journey longer and the only highway connecting Vientiane to Luang Prabang is prone to landslide. We met one the following morning. All the vehicles came to a stop for the clearing process. It might take for whole day. Hence, we decided to walk over the landslide with our luggages. From there, we took a van to reach Luang Prabang.

Finally, we reached our guesthouse at 12pm. Hurriedly we took a bath and had our lunch and started our programme of the day.

The next morning, we took a boat ride to Tham Ting cave and the local village for whisky and handicrafts.

Afterwards, we were brought to Whisky village whereby the local produces rice wine, whisky and other handicrafts for sales.

Hehe. since our bus back to Vientiane would be in the evening, hence, we went for massage at Lotus du Laos (recommended by Lonely Planet). The spa/massage packages offered at a cheap price (cheaper than Thailand), which was a good bargain! Must try if you ever come to Luang Prabang :)

Due to the unexpected landslides during our visit, it was kind of rush for us to cover the intended places that we wanted to visit. Perhaps, there will be another time for us to come back and continue our exploration here :)

~ March 2011: LIMSC, the Netherlands ~

Again, i went to the Netherlands for participating the 7th Leiden International Medical Student Conference in South Holland.

Again, i went there alone.
This time the feeling of going there was rather mixed up.. I needed to calm myself down while doing my best for the presentation of my project.

The decision to take part in this conference was not well-planned. What i meant was a day before the closing date, i submitted my abstract and i was selected for an oral presentation of 8 minutes with 2 minutes of discussion. I did not plan to go for this conference initially, but due to a sudden incident, i had to go, but i was glad that i'm part of the LIMSC family.

I was the only one from Malaysia, so it was a good opportunity for me to meet friends from around the world, exhanged our ideas and opinions on the issues being discussed during the conference, and was able to learn a bit more about culture of other students. Sometimes, being alone was nice, i walked to someone and started a conversation, and that was how i expand my social circle. We just have to make the first move. :)

Leiden, was the venue for the conference. 15 minutes train ride from Schiphol Amsterdam airport. In fact, Leiden was strategically located, which i think i will come back again to visit other cities from here. Of course, this time i will bring my mum along since she wants to admire the beauty of tulips :)

Hello Java!

Last week we went to Indonesia for the annual family trip.
Two cities was chosen for their uniqueness.
Yogyakarta is located in the southern part of Central Java, which housed temples of Borobudur (Buddhist) and Prambanan (Hindu), world heritage sites rewarded by the UNESCO.
Borobudur and Prambanan were built in the 8th and 7th century, respectively, much earlier than the Great Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Entrance fee for Borobudur is USD15 for adult (USD8 for student) while Prambanan costs USD 13 for adult (USD7 for student). Student card must be brought along to get the discount.

In addition, we also visited Mendut Temple (which is near to the Borobudur with the entrance fee of Rp 3000).

The most exciting part was we were able to have a look at the active volcano Mt. Merapi before it was erupted the following afternoon. Mum was disappointed for we were not allowed to go nearer to have a closer look due to the risk.

Here is the Malioboro street, where we can observe the local life and a good place to buy souvenirs.

We then took about 8-hour train journey to Bandung, a city with a cooler temperature located in West Java, Indonesia. We visited Tangkuban Perahu ("upturned boat" in Sundanese), tea plantation in Lembang and saw cute rabbits.

Of course, when we go to Bandung, sure we will not miss the chance to shop since there are numerous factory outlets for us to choose. These area are Dago, Riau, Setiabudi, Cihampelas, to name a few. However, we did not buy much, but still brought home some of our favourites.

Overall, we enjoyed the trip. Indeed, mum was very satisfied. Hopefully to come back again.

~ June in the Netherlands ~

Recently, i had the chance to go to the Netherlands for a week of International Student Congress of Medical Sciences (ISCOMS) and a two-week of ISCOMS Research Fellowship (IRF) in the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG).

It was such a memorable trip for me to make new friends from all around the world and an opportunity to present my work to the world in addition to have a taste of doing research in UMCG. Overall, it was truly a fruitful trip and i will come back again to the Netherlands with my loved ones to explore more of the country.

~ Trip to Nature ~

In conjunction with the Thaipusam holiday (30 Jan 2010), we went to Sekinchan and Kuala Selangor which took around two hours of journey to reach there.

Though this was a mini Buddies gathering, we asked him to join as well since he can provide us transport. I am grateful for his kindness, and i am glad to know that he had fun with them too.

We started our journey at 9am. Had our lunch at Sekinchan for RM58 for five persons. Good deal!

Afterwards, we had a relaxing stroll along the beach Redang at Sekinchan... Seashells everywhere and we collected some ...

Next, we went to Fireflies Park Resort - to the chalet and jetty for fireflies viewing. The chalet can accomodate 4 adults, since there were five of us, we added an extra bed. 2 bedrooms and a living hall. For me, it was so-so. Nevertheless, we just took it as a place for sleep. Therefore, nothing much to be expected...

We had early dinner before we went for the fireflies viewing.. The view was fascinating. Unfortunately, no photo allowed. Therefore, the memories shall remain in my heart. :)

Later that night, we had some card games and ate the snacks we brought along. We called it a day at 3.00am. Time to sleep..

Overall, Kuala Selangor was hot. I felt sticky most of the time (whenever i left the chalet, except in the car). But, it was good as any rain may prevent us from enjoying the blinking "Xmas trees" along the river bank...

~ Happy 2010 : With a Great Start! ~

Recall year 2009.. The list of my resolutions.. I am proud that i am able to achieve half of them.
The remaining will be in the list of 2010 ( I must work harder and harder to fulfill them! actually those are not my biggest goals but i still want to make them to be part of my life.)

I am happy with my birthday celebration. Nothing fancy as i wanted it to be simple and easy. Nevertheless, being with my loved ones, i felt contented with what i got thus far...

I love the card - especially the bears.. He & I.. :) And i asked for a smaller cake - my favourite Black Forest. Seeing myself in the picture now, i did not even comb my hair and just posed in front of the camera with a smile :) Happy Birthday and oh boy, i am 25 now!

I am truly happy for some of my birthday wishes have become reality. Thank You So Much!! And the rest i am still working hard.. I am sure i can do it because i CAN!
In this 2010, the main thing for me is to complete my research as well as the thesis writing. My plans are keep coming. Crossing my fingers, hoping for the BEST to come!

~ Early Presents ~

Well, today is Christmas Eve.. The second day of my holiday after i registered for my new semester. :)
I am truly happy for i received a good news from him regarding my earlier application, and i did it.
Thank God! It sure is an early birthday present for this Christmas. Hopefully i can do my best to achieve my life goals. :)

Tonight, he will come with a cake, and i will surprise him with two presents. I just know what will be his reaction when he opens both presents... ha!
Tomorrow we will be heading to Kuantan, to pray my dad and to tell him the good news. And i am truly sure he will be glad to know about it, and proud of me :) Oh boy, i am excited as tomorrow my mum will join us for dinner celebration too as i thought she would be busy with her work.

And i am still waiting for another good news. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and i can start my new year with great achievements. Thank God!...

USD 1 ~ 18,000 VND (Vietnam Dong)

Last week, i went to Northen part of Vietnam with my loved ones - dearly Mum & lovely Him.. (Picture : One Pillar Pagoda).

Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam does offers some nice sceneries for us to capture photo and to relax ... yet the attitude & manner of most Vietnameses made me ... :S

I was having a hard time talking to them since 99% of them know nothing about English or Mandarin. Mum was the heroin to save us - by using sign language.. he he.. Luckily, the hotel staff provided us a local map printed in Vietnamese.

I missed our food back in Malaysia as i really blurred on what to be taken as meal. Besides the local Vietnamese food in restaurant, Western Cruisine, Thai Express & KFC, i hardly know any selections left for me.. I did not have the heart to eat those local street food, somehow i know my mum would really really wanted to try them out. Unfortunately, she did not have the chance to do so.

Traffic in Hanoi was "awesome", seeing the motorcyclists moving around, yet nothing happened. I mean, no accidents at all. It was kind of fun to cross the road with lots of them (motorcycles).

Vietnameses are deeply influenced by the Chinese, most of them are Buddhists in Hanoi while Christians in Ho Chi Minh (Southern Vietnam). They do celebrate New Year (Tet) and mooncake festival too. :)

Ho Chi Minh Museum (Ba Dihn Area): 15,000VND/pax. The exhibition halls are located in the first and the second floor while the ground floor is allocated for ticket counter, souvenir shops and a cafe. You can only bring in small bag to enter the museum, the bigger ones will be kept in the lockers.

One Pillar Pagoda (Ba Dihn Area): A place for you to take photo and pray, it is near to the Ho Chi Minh Complex (consists of Museum, Palace & Stilt House & Masouleum). Masouleum is closed for public from October till November (to "rejuvenate" Uncle Ho). No camera or bag is allowed when enter the Masouleum.

Temple of Literature (Dong Da Area): 10,000VND/pax. Being the first University of the Country, it is really spacious and divided into few sections. Interesting place to know about the history and the architecture of a University back in ancient time.

Ngoc Soon Temple (Hoan Kiem Lake): 10,000VND/pax. The temple was built to pay respect to the Giant Turtle that lend a magic sword to the Lye Thai To (who later won the war and became the first Emperor). The temple housed a 250kg of well- preserved specimen of turtle for public view. Opposite of the temple is a Tortoise Tower, however, we can only see it by afar as there is no connection from the Hoan Kiem Lake or Ngoc Soon Temple to reach the Tower.

Dong Xuan Market (Old Quarter Area): A 3-storey building of traditional market geared towards the local shoppers. Nevertheless, it was amazing to be surrounded by so many shoes,clothes, textile, begs, toys etc. Of course, as a tourist, they will charge you with an exorbitant price, therefore, must bargain and bargain till you satisfy with the offer! They "speak" with you with Calculator. Just key in the desired number (price) to negotiate. And the Old Quarter Area is quite happening for almost everyone. We bought our souvenirs from there the most. Do enjoy and mix with the locals and have a taste of their life and culture.

St Joseph's Cathedral (Nha Tho Area): Twin Towers and Gothic Arches. Donation accepted for entry. Magnificient interior design.

Halong Bay: USD 25/pax (booked through our hotel, include entrance ticket, lunch, van & boat ride). Being one of the World Heritage Sites rewarded by UNESCO, it was such a long long day for us. From the pick-up at hotel, to the van ride and boat ride, finally to the Cave exploration, wow... tiring journey. Well, nevertheless, it was a good experience for us... Surprisingly, The Cave was only discovered in the 1998. Initially it was the monkey that discovered this place and later by fishermen that followed the monkey. Colourful lights are allocated inside the Cave, the formation of stalagmites and stalactites left the visitors with imaginations...

~ A visit to Negri Sembilan ~

During the raya holiday, we went to Negri Sembilan for a short trip. Starting from Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson and later to Pedas.

To our surprise, Tanjung Tuan is in Malacca. It is accessible via Port Dickson. Therefore, we thought Tanjung Tuan is situated in Port Dickson..

It took us around 20 minutes to walk to the Tanjung Tuan @ Rachado Light House.. Yet, prior approval is required to enter the Light House.
Port Dickson (PD), a popular weekend retreat. However, i did not even pay a visit to its beaches... We stayed at Eagle Ranch Resort, Port Dickson. It resembles a cowboy ranch with various type of accomodation such as tepee, bandwagon, log cabin & Malaysia own style of Kampung House overlooking the fishing pond.
We stayed at Bandwagon with a 50% off from the original room rate in conjuction with Ramadan Promotion. This offer did not include breakfast. I considered it as a good bargain because we had breakfast by our own.
Eagle Ranch Resort offers a wide range of fun-filled activities. Hence, it is also an ideal place for company team-building event. We had horse-riding, canoeing, and archering (He played most of it and i was for photo-taking purpose ^_^).

In addition, we walked around the Ranch and took lot of the photos because of its unique design.

We dined in the Watering Hole Bar. I love its ambience and its interior design. We went to Wet World & Natural Hot Springs at Pedas, Negri Sembilan. Well, as usual, i only wet my legs & hands.. ha ha.. Not that eagerly to jump into the water.

Overall, it was a relaxing trip. Enjoyed Eagle Ranch Resort the most. I think it is the only one of its kind in Malaysia. Nice~!

~ Kingdom of Cambodia - Phnom Penh ~

Well, it has been such a while that i did not update for the Phnom Penh part of my Cambodia trip back in June..
Hmm.. capital city of Cambodia with some development going on. For my opinion, its standard of living will be better than Siem Reap. A suggestion to visit both Siem Reap and Phnom Penh and you will get the different feel of them. It's a nice experience though as we took an air-con Express Bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh within 5-6 hours due to the condition of the bumpy road along the journey with a short break. The bus fare ranges from USD6 to USD 10.
Nothing much to shout about in Phnom Penh except for the Tuol Sleng Genocide Musuem/Killing Field (the cruel Pol Pot), some western restaurants at Riverfront (lot of choices for your selection), Royal Palace & National Museum (good recommendation by many).

Data-Analyzing .. analyzing...

What can i say at this particular moment?...
I am really tired.. physically, would like to have a sleep since it is raining heavily now.
Yet, i have to follow my timetable, to speed up my process of data-analyzing.
I know it takes lot of my time, however, i do believe my hardwork will receive its pay-off soon.
I do like busy life, of course once in a while, i need a break as well to rejuvenate or re-charge myself for further journey...

Next weekend in conjuction with the National Holiday, i will be back to Kuantan and to relax, just relax.. Therefore the data-analyzing must be completed before that time. :)

Next year i would like to attend a conference which i think is a meaningful learning opportunity & a good exposure for me in medical sciences field. Hopefully i can able to apply for the attachement too. :) Therefore, i must work faster in data-analyzing and to obtain the results for parts of the parameters, to write the abstract and to submit for the conference. All the best, I will work to my best in order to achieve my goals.. Oh Yes! ^_^

Data-analyzing, i promise you that i will finish you all soon... "Victory" ~

~ 37th UKM Convocation, 2009 ~

15 August 2009 was the first day of UKM 37th Convocation at Bangi UKM.

Since both of my buddies were in the afternoon session, therefore i reached there before 4pm and visited the booths for flowers/gifts. Earlier i have prepared some gifts for the convocation, and i bought sunflowers+roses+convo bear from the UKM booth.
I waited for quite long only they came out from the Hall (Dectar) after 5pm. Last time i went out earlier before the estimated time.. Wonder why it took so long for them...
Overall, it was such a memorable event for our Buddies Family since we were the only buddy line with 7 generations present together... (Batch 2003/2004 until the recent batch 2009/2010)
Congrats again to my buddies for their graduation.. All the best to their future undertakings.. :)

~ 5th MIB Medical Sciences Conference ~

Talking about this conference, i had face alot of difficulties before and after the conference..

Firstly, the poster.. yes, i sent the powerpoint and the application form to the related party to do it as suggested by the Secretariat 2 weeks ago. As i always know it is better earlier than later..
The day before I departed to Indonesia, i called many times to the person in charge as he told me he would finished it for me by that day. Who knows? he was in meeting from morning till almost 4pm when i called him. As a result, i had no choice but to settle it by myself, i went to the nearby shop and printed it for RM150 on the spot. Afterward, i was told he finished the poster for me but i did not have sufficient time to pick it up.

The same night, i was wondering for the payment of flight tickets. I emailed and contacted the Secretariat, yet no reponse from her and later i found out that she already went to Indonesia. She did not inform me the method of payment even though she did emailed to the others. I was praying hard that everything would be alright.

The next morning, I found out from the travel agency that my name was not in the list. I was panicked and started to cry. I sms-ed to my Prof and another doctor telling them the incidence.

They suggested me to book with the travel agent. Luckily, he was able to make the reservation for me, but with a higher price. I could not care much and i just agreed since my presentation was the following day.

Finally, settled for it. I took taxi and reached campus so that we all would go to KLIA by the Uni bus. Of course, in this kind of situation, i forgot to bring somethings.. Nevertheless, it is not much harm except my anti-histamine pills (Big buddy said i was allergy to the bed in Hotel, small itchy red spots appeared. Gosh!) The flight delayed for 2 hours, gosh.. from KLM to Merpati but in the end, the travel agent put me and another 3 persons into Lion Air. well, we could not care much as our main focus was to reach Indonesia before the Conference.

When we reached Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport, it was almost 8pm. And we were waiting the special bus from UI to fetch us to the Mercure Hotel - the venue of the Conference as well.
I did not have any dinner but luckily i grabbed something to eat around 5pm at KLIA.
When i reached Hotel room, it was nearly 10pm..
However, the room at least made my day.. Spacious with 2 queen size beds and a sofa bed.. Big tv for me to enjoy the nights and a comfy bathroom.

We explored some places in Jakarta after our presentations. It was fun as we did not do any survey ("research") of Jakarta before we came. As we know the time was limited due to the Conference. Nevertheless, i felt happy as we went to MONAS , Pasar Seni, Mangga Dua, Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia shopping malls with nice decorations, and took their Angkut (similar to Tuk-tuk),Transjakarta Bus and Blue Bird Taxi to wander around.

Well, about the food, we did not have a chance to taste on it except the Baso Chicken Bread as most of the meals were provided by the hotel throughout the conference.

And i bought some souvenirs in Pasar Seni. I did not change much Rupiah so i paid some with MYR. and the airport, i changed some for the departure tax Rp150K. And i paid my IceBlended Mocha at Starbucks using Credit Card (Rp37K).. haha.. And one thing was i back to KL using KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines).. Finally :) So we back safely to KLIA however, the flight was delayed to reach as traffic was heavy near KLIA, and KLM had to turn few rounds before landing .. there went away 25 minutes of time..We reached KLIA by 10.30pm and waited to get our luggages.

We then were told the Uni bus was broke down due to the spoilt fan. we waited and waited and the bus came at 12.00am... And i reached campus around 1.00am. Supper at McD setapak and reached home at 2.00am... Well, at least, i reached safely with souvenirs.. :) Overall, Jakarta is a huge city and i dont think i will visit it again if not necessary. As i dont see anything special of it.. But Bandung and Jogjakarta will be in my list of 2010 for mum to shop and for myself to visit Borobudur... :)

~ Hectic week ~

This week is rather tiring for me.. wake up early in the morning to catch the bus to campus so that i can reach UM earlier to start my lab.

Well, i have a new junior to accompany me until the end of my killing. She is very curious and this shows that she is keen to learn on her project for thesis. Good!

Finally i have managed to pay the registration fee and 1 night deposit of accomodation for MIB. Hopefully tomorrow i am able to scan the slip and email to them as a proof.
Looking forward to visit Jakarta, one of the largest human population living in.. Hopefully have some extra time to visit around, take some nice photo and buy some souvenirs back home..

There is one more important thing that need to be done fast- my poster for presentation. Hopefully next week i can get it . so this remaining 2 days i have to call them for confirmation. Saturday will be fixing my watch and change some money (USD & Rupiah), then pack some simple luggage. maybe need to buy 1 new shirt for MIB... Yes... :)

~ Kingdom of Cambodia - Siem Reap ~

Last Wednesday we started our journey by taking AirAsia to Siem Reap (Angkor). The journey was smooth and we arrived early than the time estimated.

The Siem Reap International Airport is small, well, what can we expect from them? As long as the officers do not "fierce" to us, then thank god!Then we headed to our guesthouse by Tuk-tuk. Free transfer service. Free welcoming drinks. Nice mix fruits shake we had. After we discussed our itinerary with the tuk-tuk driver, we went to Tonle Sap Lake by boat which cost us USD12/pax for around 1-2 hours of tour. We observed the living style of those staying in floating village. I must say it is not easy to deal with water. They did not have a proper place to sleep as the hall of the "house" is for multi-fuctions.

This is Chong Khneas floating village, most accessible to Siem Reap. Someone keep some crocodiles and fishes.
We had Khmer (Ke-Mai) food as lunch, with Amok the popular ones.We had our buffet dinner with Apsara performance that cost us USD12/pax. Later we went to buy ticket to visit Angkor Archaelogical Park which has been listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. 1-Day pass costs USD20; 3-Day pass for USD40 and 1 week pass is USD60. We opt for the 1-Day pass as it was sufficient for us to cover the main temples/ruins.
This is the famous Angkor Wat! Amazing view.. The stone faces of Bayon... Baphuon is in restoration.

Of course, there are many more which are situated outside from the Archaelogical Park. Ones can access to those places by adding extra fees to the driver since it involves a longer journey.

When we were there at Siem Reap, the weather was truly hot. Please apply sunblock, put your umbrella or cap/hat on to protect yourself.

For Phnom Penh, i will pen it down when i have the mood... Not much fascinating moments there as it is just a capital city of Cambodia.

Yesterday, i celebrated his birthday 2 days earlier as his birthday will be on Monday.
I presented him Hugo Boss In Motion. I love the scent and i am sure it would be nice for him to have it.. so that i can smell it.. :)

We had our dinner at Viet Passion, Chulan Square. We would like something different, no more Western cuisine. We ordered some of the specialties in the house. Nice and the price was reasonable. Enjoy the ambience and the friendly staffs.

We took photo with the food and the surrounding before we made a move. Overall, we enjoyed our night and later we ate durian at his house. Yummy, it was such a long time i did not have a taste of the King of Fruit.. he he..

I feel happy for having him. Indeed, he will be the man in my life.. :)

I must stop addicting to it, ha ha.. been used up my time & energy though of that... anyway, it is a good form of entertainment which i have neglected back in my degree.

After all, environment has changed. Therefore, i need a way to rejuvunate myself and to ensure i am not "alone" in the room.

Tomorrow definitely need to out as i need to feed them full, getting the required signatures and pass it to the party involved. Hopefully i can get it in the end. I am glad as Buddy is going as well.
Take this as an opportunity to learn and mix with others. It is good exposure. At the same time, i can travel a bit if the time is sufficient.

Well, lot of things happened in last week. Thank god, we were able to settle them.. From that moment on, we promised to work together to create a happy family of our own.. :)
I bought him the present when i was in Kuantan last weekend. Still thinking the place for the dinner.. Hopefully i am able to find something nice, i mean the food must be nice in addition to the ambience ..

I got the news as my abstract was selected for poster presentation in this MIB held in July.
Will try to apply the grant from PPS , or try OUP as suggested by my supervisor.
Hopefully everything goes smoothly. It is a good exposure for me to present using poster as this is the first time in doing so. Learn something new. Hehe...

Oh, looking forward this coming saturday for the celebration.. Happy happy for that.. :)

So finally, the things have turn out to be quite good...
Glad, really glad for i dont want to in that hatred mood for the rest of the week..
This friday i will be heading to Kuantan - my hometown to have a nice sound sleep..
Of course, i need to take chance to buy his birthday present.
Hopefully, i can get a nice one for him.
How is the birthday celebration plans? Well, there are two of them. In case Plan A failed, i still have a back-up plan. Hopefully the management can inform me as soon as possible or else i will cancel and proceed to plan B where everything seems under my control.

Today, i feel truly sad and disappointed..
I never feel in such a way before for these recent years..
The feeling i had just now as if i will kill someone without mercy..
I have decided to give myself a long break to cool down. I will not simply forgive that person as that person did something that i could not accept.

I am sad but i am still glad that i know someone there to look after an care for me..
I will discuss with "him" so that we can enjoy ourselves..

~ Research Work ~

~ Well, i need to re-charge myself to continue my work. Sometimes i am being lazy, i learnt to be lazy since i step into post-graduate life... hehe. I used to be very hard-working as many have said so. Nevertheless, i learn to relax "lazy" to avoid being pushed-up to the wall. In the end, i may lose my temper or being frustrated, lack of motivation and i may quit as well. These are the things that i want to stay away with.

Today i met my supervisor to discuss my coming-up plan for the study. I will measure BP while my partner starts to run his samples. I am not really into PowerLab yet i will learn to master it. (Of course it takes some times).

By the way, i have completed my draft as correct as possible with the format requested by publisher. I will pass over to few persons to proof-read and edit it whenever applicable before submission. And i did received money prize as a token of appreciation for my previous journal published. The money prize is divided among the co-authors.

It is an encouraging move to "ensure" the lecturers to write and write, and to be published in journals. I am keen on high impact factor (IF) journals. For those starters, they can opt for lower IF , to gain experience in writing. I gain satisfaction when i read my published journal.. he he.. so hopefully, my second journal will be published as well :)

I am still waiting the good news from Secretariat regarding the abstract results. As you see, the jury will choose the abstracts to be presented either orally or by poster.
If orally, the participant is fully sponsored including conference fees, accomodation and flight tickets. On the other hand, for poster presentation, the fees are waived 50%.
Of course the due date for abstract submission is 30 May 2009, therefore i do not see the possibility that i will get to know the result by end of this month, perhaps by June since the conference is in July. If i am able to go, then is a good exposure for me as i can also take a chance to visit Jakarta. he he.. cross my fingers, hoping for the best to come!

~ KL Bird Park ~

Last Saturday went to Bird Park, the world largest free-flight walk-in aviary. It is located within the KL Lake Garden. Entrance fee for Mykad holder is RM15 per adult. Various bird species were found walking freely but for those that are big sizes & fly freely, they need to be kept in cages.

Took quite alot of birds photos.. Obviously, they are the main reason for me to visit Bird Park..

Had a chance to observe the egg incubation and how the chicks out from the eggs.

Had a chance to take photo with the feathered friends.. Initially, i was a bit of afraid as i worry they might have a peck on me.. Luckily, they behaved quite well. So, we are satisfied with the results ...

Last week was a hectic week..

Talk, conference & workshop.

Nevertheless, gained a lot of experiences & exposed to different fields of research, as well as meet new people to exchange ideas.

Presented orally for the Young Scientist Award at 23rd Malaysian Society of Pharmacology & Physiology (MSPP) held at Grand Seasons Hotel, KL.

Truly happy for i had won it...

Coming up next, is to speed up my manuscript-writing process, for the figures & illustrations.

Hopefully, this July able to go to Jakarta for 5th Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei (MIB) Medical Science Conference. And hope the H1N1 threat is away from us.. he he..

~ Tuition in STPM Chemistry ~

It has been nearly 6 years that i last read STPM Chemistry book...
I was self-studying for Chemistry for STPM back then. Recalling that my batch was the first to start using English as a teaching medium. Therefore, most of the teachers involved in teaching Science & Mathematics would went for courses oftenly.. In the end, we need to be persistent and determined to study by our own as the teachers were only explain briefly .. So, i read and read the books, did and did alot of the questions to enable me to familiarize with the real exam questions..

Is STPM Chemistry tough?.. Well, once look at it, surely puzzled by the equations.. Yet, if one knows the tips to understand the concept and hardworking to practise the past-year questions, i am sure in the end we can score.. this was how i fared well in my STPM year 2003!...
Mind-mapping plays a key role as it made our life easier! i know many formulas and important facts need to be memorized. that's the reason we must study smart as well...

Haha.. and talking about STPM Chemistry, i will give tuition on this subject to a student from TAR College, taking STPM end of this year. Now, is coming to the month of May, which i will start the lesson , it only lefts merely half year for her major exam. so, intensive studying and focus on questions & questions will be the ultimate moves for her.
This is my first task in giving home tuition which take places at my place. Hopefully everything goes smoothly for her as well as myself.. I would like to help her to get good results in STPM. Good luck to both of us!...

Time for a break soon...
I am not a KL-type of person.. i dont enjoy the bustle & hustle of the city, crowded in most of the part of KL, traffic jam and polluted air.. even the weather seems to get hotter... Ew...

Most of the people come to KL for studying and working purpose while i am the former.. Or else i wont be here.. I do hope i can move back to Kuantan once i graduate with a PhD yet my future husband IS a KL-boy... I wonder do i have much choice??.. is that mean i will be living in KL for the remaining life?.... well well... Not going to imagine that for the time being ...

Sometimes when i pass by those night-life entertaiment outlets.. i just pass by while sitting inside a car... those places are packed like sardine, for god's sake, how can one enjoy being packed in those air-less places?... well, for relaxaing purpose? or something else.. ?
I am a fan of Heineken, i prefer those pubs played with Jazz instead of clubs with full-blast music and those ah beng & ah lian.... sorry i do not intend to offence anyone....

Hmm... i do not know how am i going to live in KL ?.. Currently staying at Setapak due to its convenient location but once i get married, i will move to somewhere else (still within KL area.. duh..!) ... land property is what i am looking for....

I have this account for quite some times. Yet, i did not even have the initiative to start my blog... As i blog at Friendster.

After reading some blogs from my friends, i think is kinda cool to have a blog at Blogger. ha ha..so, here i am now.

Basically i love to share my life stories or encounters with friends around me. This might be due to the fact that my mum has only me - single child and i talk to my toys too. Dont be surprise! Initially my friends would think that i go bananas yet in the end, i have convinced them to talk to him- Ya! My dear cute Little Noty !... He is 15cm tall..My friends said he was puppy, kitten, hippo!... Haha! He is a Monkey!..

He has been with me since my first year of degree course. until now, it is almost 5 years. Afterwards, he has become the apple of my eyes (sorry to others... well, i still miss my toys back home..).
